ABOUT US
Britannia was founded by Dan Shadrake in 1990 making us one of the largest and oldest single re-enactment groups in the UK*.
Our versatile and talented team have portrayed life, battles and scenes of numerous periods of history of the British Isles (and elsewhere too).
To date, Britannia has worked on over 100 television productions, from serious documentary productions such as Simon Schama’s landmark series A History of Britain, Channel 4’s Gladiator Girl, Life and Death in Rome and various episodes of Time Team through to more light-hearted productions like Horrible Histories, (all seven series), The Agency, Celebrity Gladiators (Chris Eubank v Nigel Benn), Blue Peter, New Tricks and even science fiction dramas such as Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere.
With our wealth of experience and knowledge we guarantee that with Britannia, history will come to life.
*(There are many larger societies, composed of different smaller groups/chapters/regiments).
